Board Description
BARK PARK
Aside from regular walks, it was nearly impossible to find a spaceous area for dogs to be let off leash. The Bark Park was built by the local animal shelter as a place where people could socialize their dogs off leash in the city. The park is surrounded by townhomes on one side, and a small street market on the other. The neighborhood outside of the park is a well kept community, as is the park itself. The park only allows registered dogs who have proof of current vaccinations, but strays have been known to find their way in. A six foot chain link fence surrounds the park. The area is well covered in trees, but not entirely. The park is divided into two areas, one for small dogs and the other for large dogs. There are a couple of picnic tables and benches beneath the shade of the trees, and several cleanup stations are scattered around the park. Both areas have a water fountain with fresh flowing water to drink from. The park's landscape is almost entirely made up of artificial turf. The play area on either side of the fence that separates the small dogs from the large dogs is made up of sand and other loose fines.
