VACANT WAREHOUSE

A short distance from the scrapyard there is an old, rusty warehouse. There’s no telling what used to be stored or manufactured here, but it has been vacant for years. Weeds and grasses penetrate the cracks and splits of the concrete floor, and there’s not a window left intact. Shattered glass still remains on the dusty ground, next to rusted nails and splintered boards that once protected the windows. Concrete blocks and slabs of metal make up the walls of the warehouse, now tagged with graffiti and little quotes left behind by some rebellious teenager. Field mice often seek shelter here, making the warehouse a routine hunting ground for feral cats, birds of prey, snakes, and other predators.
