URBAN SLUMS

The slums are a large neighborhood on the peripheral of the city, just before you reach the outer city limits. Part of the slums stretches further into the city where old office buildings stand abandoned and decorated with graffiti designs that have been tagged by wandering misfits. The houses in the slums are shoddy and impaired, with creaking doors and overgrown lawns. Most of the chain-link fences that confine the backyards of each of the houses are bent and broken, and some of the unoccupied houses’ windows are shattered. Poverty and gang violence are common characteristics in these slums, as well as various illegal activities, such as money laundering, drug marketing, and dog fighting.
