[cs=2][classy=title]appearance[/classy] Though Dancer is large, she looks rather dainty. Her luxurious amount of fur makes her look like a lady and she has a delicate gait. Of course, this all changes, as she has the muscle to be able to run, jump, and do anything when she is playing. Her fur is a mixture of white, brown, and light tan, with a bit of cream mixed in. Large, expressive brown eyes finish her appearance. [classy=title]personality[/classy]Dancer is a dog who specializes in being invisible. She has no reputation in the streets - rather, she lives quietly, stealing now and then from humans and other dogs, but not so much that they can tell. One may not believe that such a quiet, shy little girl has such street smarts, but she knows how to live on the streets without being mean and intimidating. Being a peaceful person, violence makes her queasy and she'll do anything she can to avoid a fight. [classy=title]biography[/classy]When one meets her at first, she's shy. However, Dancer is wired to be a social sort of dog, so whenever she sees anyone, she always tries to strike up a conversation. At first, she'll be quiet, timid, and nervous. As a conversation goes on and she begins trusting someone, she begins to be more animated and open. When she trusts someone, she becomes a completely different person - bright, lively, funny, full of jokes. Another characteristic of Dancer is that she loves to think. It's very true. Dancer can sit, alone, for a day and just think about things. Without this urge to think about everything she does, ponder over everything everyone else does, wonder at the creation of life, she would have gone crazy years ago. This inquisitive nature balances out her love of socialize. Unfortunately, she often thinks about herself as a dog and what she would do in certain situations. Because of this, she has determined that if someone she loved was in danger, she would freeze up and not help them. What she would actually do is yet to be determined. Finally, Dancer is a hopeless romantic. She finds it all too easy to fall head-over-paws in love with another dog, and she's done it several times in her past. Elba had it all. A family of humans who loved her, a mate who would do anything for her, and six puppies in her belly that were growing each day. Elba was born for show, but one day, the car door closed on her tail, breaking it at the end. It never looked quite right. As a result, she was sold to her loving family. Champ had a much similar story, but more dramatic. He had been from the same show dog breeder, but when he and his owner were going for a walk, he was hit by a car. The owner wasn't hurt, but his leg was permanently damaged and had to be amputated. He was sold away as well. Both were purebred border collies, and their families were neighbors, so they saw each other every day. Everything was going well. Elba had her puppies; five healthy ones. The runt of the litter had a cough and died soon after. There were three boys and two girls. The three boys were Moose, Eleven, and Scamper, and the two girls were Dancer and Raine. They seemed to separate into two groups from the beginning; Moose, Scamper, and Raine, and Eleven and Dancer. Of course, none of them bullied each other, as they do in some litters, but Moose, Scamper, and Raine were more adventurous and would always do more bold and dangerous things such as daring each other to run across the street right before a car. Fortunately, nothing bad happened other than Scamper slipping from the windowsill and hurting his leg. It wasn't broken, and healed within weeks. However, Eleven and Dancer preferred to stay with the humans. Since they were young, they needed human attention, and thrived on the affection their humans gave him. But the humans they lived with weren't the richest, and when the economy started declining, they took Elba and moved away, leaving her five puppies at home. Of course, they were about a year old, now, but they had never been trained to live in the wild. This abandonment made Eleven and Dancer hate humans. They thought all humans were like this. Scamper, Raine, and Moose were less affected, as they hadn't loved their humans as much, and they left after a few days, a big group, as always. Eleven and Dancer stayed for a little bit, hoping their humans would come back, but knowing they wouldn't. Finally, they left to make their way in the world. Dancer was a faster learner than Eleven, and it wasn't long until she knew the streets as if she had been born there. Eleven was scared of everything, and when he was scared, he'd curl into a little ball instead of running like any sensible stray would do. Dancer tried to teach him street smarts, but Eleven just didn't get it. He ended up completely dependent on Dancer, needing her to hunt for them both, and find a good place for them to sleep at night. One day, as Dancer and Eleven were crossing a human's yard, a vicious dog came up behind them. It attacked Eleven, tearing him to shreds, though Dancer tried to protect her brother. She knew her brother couldn't be saved, and ran away before she had to watch him die. That was about two months ago. Now, she wanders the streets alone. |
