The first thing one should know about Zara is that unless she has a task in front of her she has to be doing something otherwise she will get bored. What also goes hand in hand with this is that she's a high-energy dog (based mostly on breed and then also on her personality) and she needs to keep herself busy otherwise she will lose interest and start wrecking stuff or wander off. She's a very curious canine who, though she can remember to be cautious sometimes, for the most part does before actually thinking. But she does quickly learn from her mistakes (if its a rodent and it's black with a white stripe, don't go near it. It smells! BAD!).
Zara is a determined animal that is protective over what she believes to be hers. Granted, she isn't the best fighter and would rather not fight. But that also doesn't mean she won't. She absolutely hates feral dogs and wolves solely because they were often the cause of rousing up or killing her sheep on the farm. And though there may be a fair few ferals in the city she will avoid them if at all possible. Zara is by all means a more passive creature than a general fighter. She enjoyed her life on the farm, and wants it back more than anything else. Though she may wander from her new home to go herd wild geese in the park, she always returns before they get home from work. (She's paid attention to their schedules long enough to get an idea of when to return.) She's pretty good at tracking but not at hunting.
In general, Zara is a friendly female who easily trusts others (minus ferals/wolves). She is sweet and generally concerned with the well-being of others. She can be motherly when the occasion provides such a need. But for the most part she's just a girl with a lot of energy, a big curiousity, and a big heart.

Border collies as a breed that come in a lot of varying colors from brown and white, black and white, to merle, ticked, diluted colorings (of both black and brown), sable, brindle, and red and white. They often come in such a variety of colors so it's easy for the farmers that bred them to distinguish them, and see them out in the pastures. Zara is a collie with the common black and white coat, though her markings are rather interesting at best. Her face is mostly white including her snout, the white cascading down her neck, to her underbelly and forepaws. Her floppy ears and one of her eyes are black, this follows down her back and even to her tail. Her hind legs are partially black and white, black down to the hips and then white long socks. The most interesting feature about Zara is that her face looks almost like a ying yang sign. Her eyes are brown, almost milk-chocolatey in color. And she's quite in shape, especially since all her life (or the majority really) she's been herding sheep.
She is an active herding dog, healthy with up-to-date shots and vaccines. She's at an appropriate weight and not like some of the more spoiled over weight domestics. As a border collie, she is a high-energy dog that can't stay cooped up for long without causing havok.

Zara was born and raised for the majority of her life in a rural farm town in Northern Nevada. Like her parents before her she was trained on the basic commands of sit, stay, lie down, roll over, come, beg, fetch. Also, following in her parents footsteps she was raised to herd sheep, not just at the farm but also in national competitions against other farmers around the area. She also assisted around the farm, she enjoyed riling up the chickens or playing in the mud with the pigs. Granted, the mother pigs often didn't enjoy her near their youngsters. But life on a farm was never dull.
About six months ago, her owner lost the farm and had to sell all his animals to make due with his debt fees. Since Zara was a promising herding dog, she was sold to new owners that live in a small house with an even tinier fenced-in backyard. Z doesn't like the new place, there's nothing to do. And though at first it was alright because the humans seemed to like the fact that she was trained, now they aren't as home as often. And she gets bored getting stuck in the backyard all day. But, she's managed to get the human's schedule down pact, and has found a way out of the yard. Time to see if this city is any more interesting then the yard. Otherwise, she wonders if she'll ever be able to get back to the farm.
