Ebony isn’t the average, outgoing, happy little female that most may consider her to be, within a simple glance. She isn’t looking for attention 24/7, nor is she abnormally dark and violent, like some of this day and age. She is a canine of simplicity, and yet, can be so entirely complicated. Ebony spends most of her life looking at the beauty within things; be if a rainy day or a sour situation, she will always find something to be in awe about. However, unlike some youngters that find something beautiful and move on, Ebony actually treasures these things to a deep, barely comprehensionable level. She focuses on the details of things immensely, and because of this, has become an absolute expert on the art of reading expression and feeling from others. She can analyze another, be it a friend or stranger, and immediately understand things about them. This, in turn, tends to make others wary, as she always seems like she knows more then she should about someone, no matter how recently they’ve become acquainted.
Aside from Ebony being absolutely mesmerized by the details within life, she also has a very soft and calm way of looking at things. She will never be the one to act aggressively first, unless pushed to it, and speaks with an almost unheard of grace and softness. Her voice, however, is never tender. Soft, but surely lacking all true, warm emotion. The canine is like this because, although she is so intensely hung up on details and comes across with serene calm, she is guarded beyond what most view as possible. Due to her past, she refuses to get close to anyone, be it male or female, out of fear they may hurt her again. She’s resistant towards personal contact, and will go out of her way to escape it if need be, and often becomes skittish, should she come in contact with someone she wishes not to. Trust is very important to her, and should you break it, she will not be pleased. Ebony chooses to show no emotion whatsoever when coming into contact with someone, and if she feels she may have slipped, her mind tends to over-think it, and Ebony will often back herself into a metaphorical corner. She’ll begin to feel closed in and panicky, and respects when others leave her alone at this time.
Now, yet another thing that describes the female is her will to be strong. This goes hand-in-hand with her desire to lock out emotions, as she believes they are a weakness. She was hurt gravely in the past, and because of this, has gone to all heights possible, to keep herself “safe.” Now, although Ebony can seem resistant to get to know others, she’s undeniably open-minded. She will never judge another, only until they have done something to lead her on to their real, true personality. This, also, is where her knack for “reading” comes in.
Finally, should someone get past her hard outer shell, Ebony is an absolute pleasure to know. She’s well-mannered and kind, and will let others in on her past if she trusts them, bit by bit. She has a soft spot for pups, as she has such respect for them, although she tends to become saddened because of the thought of her lost son. All in all, Ebony is a very complex, yet entirely simple, female. It would certainly take patience to master her emotions and gain her trust.

Seeing as Ebony's genes consist of mostly border collie blood, those that glance towards her may, at first, think her to be pure-bred. However, upon further examination, one would learn differently. For example, the female is slightly taller than most border collies, at 21 inches at the shoulder. Her pelt is black and white in color, with black spots or "ticking", a result from the dalmatian that is in her blood lineage, and her eyes are unique, her right eye being an amber-brown and her left eye being a piercing, nearly hypnotic ice blue. Her frame is lithe and slim, built for speed and stamina rather then strength, and her features are very pronounced. Most would consider the female uniquely beautiful, but certainly not perfect.

Ebony’s past is not on that many wish to experience, let alone have to remember for the rest of their lives. She was born a pup in a small, close pack of five members, in which each and every member was friends with the next, and the alpha was considered a protective gentleman, known for his gentle ways of running his pack. Her mother had given birth to two twins come spring; Ebony herself, and a larger, black and white male. However, there was a problem, in which the alpha took notice of from the moment he caught sight of them--the puppies had been illegally born.
Or, rather, that was how the alpha pictured it, seeing as Ebony’s mother was the alpha female--and her father? He was a border collie mixed with dalmatian, owned by one of the park owners. Her mother had fallen in love with him despite her mate's rules, and when she birthed the pups were both born with dazzling, oddly-colored eyes; eyes in which neither Ebony's mother or father had. No, instead they shared eyes with their real father, a border collie mixed with dalmatian, giving him fine confirmation and distinguishable features despite the fact he was mixed.
As to be expected, the large alpha got extremely angered by such unfaithful acts, and took his rage out on Ebony's brother, mercilessly slaughtering him before her young, virgin eyes. He would have murdered her as well, that much was clear to Ebony, if it wasn't for her mother, Roslyn, who was able to spare her of his wrath.
It was only natural, for him to show his dominance in such ways, though Ebony’s mother wouldn’t stand for her last child to be killed. She persuaded the alpha brute to let her only daughter live, and hesitantly, he agreed. For a price. When Ebony reached the age of two, she would be kicked from the pack, forced to take on the world in her lonesome. Her mother agreed, desperately wanting Ebony to live, and the deal was made.
So, Ebony matured, coming to think that the alpha was her father, though never feeling completely loved and/or cared for by him. He never spoke to her, and if she did get his attention, it was generally only him scolding the youngster for something she did wrong. The pup’s mother tried her best to comfort her, and being as she was young, she usually went along with it without a second thought. He was her father after all--of course he loved her. He had to.
Ebony grew slowly but steadily, learning the ways of the wild, all from her mother. She was taught everything, from how evade predators successfully, to the art of disappearing without leaving a trace. Her mother had figured that these skills would be needed, as she knew the alpha would keep his promise, despite her complaints.
However, there was a deadly twist no one knew about.
As Ebony came up to her second year, her mother told her everything. She informed her about her father and the deal, and Ebony felt somewhat relieved, but only momentarily. It was as the realization hit her that she had to leave, that the young female fell into somewhat of a panic. The female had tried bargaining with her mother, as desperately as she could, though her mother told her that the alpha had made his decision. This was two nights before she was sent out, and considered an outcast in her own territory.
As the night came where the alpha chased Ebony, out rather savagely might I add, she raced from the territory without hesitation. The dark femme disappeared into the bush, disguising herself within the protection that was the rough terrain surrounding her.
Ebony ran for nearly an hour, before coming to a pause to observe the area around her. She was alone--so, entirely, alone. Though, Ebony wasn’t warned of the incoming danger. The alpha wolf of the pack considered her vermin, nothing but filth, and had long ago decided he wanted her gone. Terminated. Soon after the female left, the quickest, most aggressive male within the pack was sent after Ebony to hunt her down and slaughter her mercilessly. He was much, much bigger than the two year old, and possessed the anger and rage of an angered bull. To everyone, her fate seemed inevitable.
However, it was all an act. Little did this adrenaline-fueled male know, he was to be the one dying, for a much more complicated, twisted plan.
When the large male came bursting through the bush towards Ebony, she was caught completely off guard. The brute’s teeth dug into her neck harshly, pulling and tearing at her, trying to bring her dangerously close to the ground, where reaching her jugular would be far too easy. Ebony was a fighter, though, and she had learned well from her mother. The female fought off the larger male with much hardship, getting into a standing position, though her neck was bloodied and torn. It was then that a snap from a nearby bush caught her immediate attention, and yet another brute came towards her; lips peeled back to reveal eager, ivory canines.
However, he sprung at the attacking male rather than the helpless, dainty little female, striking out at him with obvious practice. Within moments, the attacker was dead.
Skilled. Perfection.
Ebony, being how young and vulnerable she was, immediately trusted this male. She followed after him like a love struck puppy, and so when he began asking for a family, she was happy to oblige, jumping at any chance she could to please him. She became pregnant in no time, and within the next season, birthed him a beautiful male pup, dark in color. It was a fluke, to have birthed only one child, and so Ebony treasured the youngster with every fibre of her being.
However, he didn't last long.
It was one morning a little over three months after having the pup, in which Ebony had stepped a few feet away from the sleeping child in order to drink from a nearby puddle. She gave a soft whine in greeting as her mate walked past her, towards their child that lay behind her a few feet, however, didn't acknowledge the sound as he usually did. It was when her ears flickered back to catch the quickening of the male's gait that she knew what was happening.
Call it mother's intuition, but she knew. Her child was in danger, and she was not happy about it.
By the time Ebony had turned around and raced towards her child, it was nearly too late. Her mate had picked up the fragile puppy by his scruff, and was flinging him around, somewhat like a limp rag-doll. Ebony let out a nasty snarl in emotional agony, before slamming into the much larger brute, causing him to drop their child, and whip his head around to latch onto her. The two fought, ferociously and violently, for quite the while, before Ebony finally collapsed to the ground, exhausted. She was bloodied and broken, and as her head lay against the rough earth beneath her, her eyes flickered towards her pup, laying limp a few feet away from her.
An overwhelming sadness overtook her as she looked at the tiny animal, and it was then, that Ebony changed.
"Sorry, love. Your step-father's offer was far too tempting." He offered with a mocking snort, before trotting off, tail high, leaving her for dead. She was in a nasty-enough condition, that's for sure, but the female wasn't one to quit. After she was sure her mate had left, she dragged herself over to where her limp child lay, and slept the night, curled around him.
Come morning, she left, and never came back.
The female hadn't known where she was headed, nor what direction she was in, but soon enough, her travels brought her to the town. It was a startling change, compared to the forest she was used to, but it guaranteed safety from the male that had taken everything from her.
