Mr. Noodle is a typical genius type: Brilliant, but almost severely limited to one area. Great at puzzle-solving and tracking ferals, but he tends to go overboard and see patterns when they are not necessarily present. Hyper-vigilant, he becomes obsessive with his “projects” and can lose sight of regular function without someone to ground him – when working over a particularly difficult problem, he’s known to forget to eat, sleep, and groom himself.
Caring and protective, Mr. Noodle is also a “good boy”. He loves his human (and just about every human and other well-behaved dogs, but of course his Rachel is the best human) and he thinks it his responsibility to look out for humankind. It’s only a bonus that the tracking of ferals and the like also piques his interest in puzzle-solving – he likes to say that he does it for the sole benefit of making the city safer for Rachel.
He has a fairly strong moral compass, and likes to think himself noble. Though he fears strays, he’s not averse to hearing their side of the story – and while he can be dismissive and condescending, he certainly doesn’t mean to be. It’s his opinion that everyone out to be given a chance (or a second chance), and he likes to help out whenever he can.
Finally, Mr. Noodle can get a little bit… paranoid. He goes overboard with his “theories”, and while some have proven real and his work has benefited his cause, he seems to think he has an “arch-nemesis” out there… some brute of a feral whose whole mission is to kill him and his human. (Despite, of course, having no proof towards this thought.) Eclectic to say the least, if one can get over Mr. Noodle’s penchant for vigilantism and obsessive tendencies, he makes for an alright friend. … Usually.

Your average red-and-white Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Mr. Noodle stands eleven inches at the shoulder and weighs a healthy twenty-eight pounds. His back and face are a rich gold-red, while his belly, nose, and fairy saddle around the shoulders are a pale shade of cream. His legs are tiny and he was born with a short, stump-like tail – and, like any good Corgi, he has massive, pointy, bat-like ears. (He’s rather fond of his ears. You know what they say about a dog with big ears, after all.)
His coat is plush and well-groomed (thanks to Rachel and those accursed baths), his nails trimmed and his eyes clear. He wears a collar – a pretty one with blue and black zebra stripes, and a tag that identifies him as “MR. NOODLE”, complete with numbers that ensure he’s brought back to his human if he ever gets lost. He quite likes his collar, and wears it proudly – but the sweaters and things Rachel sometimes dresses him up in are met with quite a different sentiment.

Mr. Noodle was purchased from a breeder and given to his human, Rachel, at a very young age. He was a graduation present, given to her by “A Very Stupid Boy” that he met only a few times before Rachel stopped seeing him. Rachel brought him along to a place called school, where she went most days for a few hours while he got to stay in her apartment. Sometimes he got to go to school too, where she would walk him around and let people pet him and give him snacks – and there were so very many things to smell: he certainly enjoyed himself.
Rachel proved herself a good owner, and gave him all manner of toys to play with and tricks to learn. She encouraged his quick mind and the two grew close – she was his human and he was her mr. noodle, and they would never be apart.
Mr. Noodle knew nothing of ferals, or of strays for that matter, until after his first birthday. Just out of puppyhood and starting to form his own opinions about the world, they encountered a mangy, aggressive-looking stray as Rachel walked him around the block one night. The mutt stared them down and growled – Rachel was scared; he could hear her heart racing. Fur bristling, he growled at the stranger, and she backed off… Rachel called “Animal Control” when they got home, but Mr. Noodle could tell she was still afraid.
He started doing his own research – asking around the dog park, sniffing around on his own whenever he could. Finding ferals to be a very real problem, he deduced that within a matter of years they would have amassed a pack large enough to encroach further into the city (and the suburbs, where Rachel’s family lived). And Mr. Noodle certainly couldn’t stand for this, no – he had to protect his human, and keep the city safe for all other humans, even if some of them kept cats for pets.
It was about this time that Rachel bough a video camera to film Mr. Noodle’s various antics. He took the opportunity to communicate with dogkind everywhere, showing off his hunting skills by practicing on his squeaky toys, his mental prowess by easily learning new commands from Rachel, and managed to slip in a few messages here and there. Rachel posted the videos to “Youtube”, some sort of communications channel for cute animals and stupid humans.
To this day Mr. Noodle patrols the city for ferals and evil-doers, striving to make the world a better place for Rachel, and also to chase cats.
