dominantZero doesn't like to be ruled over at any time. His dominance can provoke anger from him if somebody doesn't obey. Zero prefers to lead at all times and won't hesitate to fight a rebelling dog.
manipulative / persuasiveWith a sly tongue hidden behind pebbly black jowls and rows of teeth, Zero was born to be a talker. On weak minded dogs he will easily use his manipulation skills to talk the dog into believing something. Other occasions, like speaking to rally a pack, Zero possess very adept speech skills to make people listen to him or rile up.
intelligentZero's mind is sharp and expansive. Like a sponge he can learn the strengths and weaknesses of dogs, traffic patterns, and—most importantly— fighting tactics. He is very decisive and makes time to plan everything out before acting.
loyalHe is loyal to only close friends that he can trust. Should you be in a rough spot you can always count on Zero being there to help you out. Never would he betray the trust of any friend.
friendlyDespite his aggression, dominance, and cold looks, Zero is a friendly dog to everyone that approaches. He doesn't pass judgement before ever talking to another person. Shy dogs can easily be lured into a deep conversation with Zero.
realisticRushing into a situation before knowing what is going on is a stupid choice in Zero's mind. Knowing if he can win or not in a battle is important for him— he'd rather not risk his life being brash.
unforgivingIf you wrong this brute, you will never gain his trust again. It doesn't matter if you only spoke a few ill words behind his back, the act is punishable in his view. This doesn't necessarily mean he makes these dogs into enemies... more likely he'll just ignore them until the end of time.
braveAlthough the thought of death is sinister and unnerving to him, Zero would never allow a friend to die if it could be prevented. If he had to scale a fire escape and rescue a dog from the roof of a burning building he would likely do so without fear keeping him back. However, Zero would likely pause to access the situation before jumping headlong into it. And don't even think he'll save you from water.
level-headedAlthough he is aggressively dominant and loves to fight, Zero can easily remain calm in hectic situations. He doesn't get stressed easily and can keep his temper at bay.

Just a bit bigger then the average medium-sized Belgian shepherd, Zero weighs eighty pounds and stands twenty-seven inches at the wither. His square build is comparable to a German Shepherd Dog, but his back and hindquarters are not sloped towards the ground. With a straight back and long legs, a sleek runner's build and deep chest, Zero is the prime look of his breed. However, his thin, aerodynamic structure can be easily overtaken by a heavier dog, making Zero rely more on speed and quick thinking tactics to survive. His long, narrow muzzle holds rows of sharp teeth that K-9 units adore. The masculine features can easily be seen in his face, muscle tone, and size. He sports a thick tail which is used as a weak balancer when running and turning. Zero's short fur doesn't protect him from the cold, and especially not against bites.

Zero was born into a healthy litter of seven pure Belgian Malinois dogs. His mother and father were part of a breeding program for the police force's K-9 unit. The owners were an elderly couple with too much time on their hands. For almost a decade they tried to get their puppies accepted into the police dog academy, but more well-known breeding facilities overtook their spots. Before they could give up hope though, their previous years litter had three dogs accepted into training for the K-9 unit— two of them became certified police dogs. Their hopes for this litter was full of high expectations. Sadly, three of the puppies died for an unknown reason at the age of three weeks. With only three males and one female left, the couple feared this litter would be a dud. They decided to "pet them out" to different owners and start over. At the age of four months Zero was adopted out to young boy and his family. Although he enjoyed playing with the boy as a puppy, Zero could hardly stand being bossed around by the parents, and so he became an unruly dog with a bad temperament. He was just one year old when the family decided to send him to the pound.
The boy was desperate not to let Zero go into the pound. Late at night he let the dog out of the front door. At first Zero didn't understand, but it didn't take him long to quickly bolt out into the warm night and live on the streets. He found life much more enjoyable when he could make up the rules. Fighting was almost daily when Zero was traveling through the rural country side. Big shepherd dogs liked to pick on his smaller size and as much as Zero loved to start fights, he wouldn't hardly win due to his age. The traveling was lonely. One stormy day he ventured into an old wheat barn to stay dry. Even after the rain stopped he still remained tucked away in the dry barn until he heard the creaking doors swing open. Goat after goat shuffled in wearily— they had smelled him. Hunger drove Zero to blindly attack the kids latched at their mother's side, stirring up the herd and alerting the farmer. Zero learned his lesson the hard way of making dumb choices. The ill-hearted farmer snared Zero, muzzled him, and brought him out the the flooded creek that ran through the woods. With his hind legs tied up, Zero was tossed into the rushing water and whisked away. He struggled hard to keep his head above water. He didn't know how to swim! The labor of using his front legs to keep his nose above the current while running into fallen trees was horrible to endure. The wire around his muzzle had sealed his mouth shut. Luckily Zero, with his last remaining strength, found stability on a fallen tree trunk and was able to crawl his way up onto the muddy bank.
When he awoke that night he heard scuffling around him. Like small paws... too small to even be a puppies. He was still too exhausted to care what was going on, but he did notice the pressure of his back paws being tied up was gone. Before he let his eyes close again he heard the scuffling coming closer and a shape appearing in front of him. A light creamy colored rat boldly approached him and climbed on top of his muzzle. Some how Zero felt an indescribable bond between them forming. The intelligent rat started to chew off the wire that was bounded around his muzzle. After that, the creature curled up on top of Zero's neck and snuggled up to his ear. In the morning Zero had gained a new friend, a new fear, and his strength back. The rat was dubbed Hugo by Zero. The two—Hugo was normally seen riding on Zero's back— traveled back to the city. The love for Hugo could easily be seen; Zero always found food for the rat, protected him against cats, and occasionally fought a dog off to keep the rat safe. Hugo was the only companion at the time for Zero. The devotion towards the rat was knowingly because he came at a time when Zero had needed him most.
