Braveryprotection~
speaks her mind, not afraid of helping those in needWhen you first meet Heartbeat you would know first thing that she is a loving and considerate dog. She is very brave and isn't afraid to protect or help others when she can. You wont see her turning her head away when another dog is in need, even if its dogs she doesn't like. Heartbeat isn't the type of dog who looks the other way and this sometimes gets her into trouble or puts a lot of responsibility on her.
scared of cages~To consider Heartbeat's past its no wonder she is scared of cages or trapped places like in a locked room. Heartbeat is terrified of cages and just by looking at one makes her heart race. If you have her locked in a room don't expect her not to panic and go crazy. When she's in a difficult situation when dogs are surrounding her and pinning her to a corner she would feel trapped and get scared and that's when Grace would most likely come out.
speaks her mind~Another thing about Heartbeat is that she usually speaks her mind. She isn't afraid to say what she thinks to anyone. Grace is also like this and would cause trouble.Consideratecheerful~
cheerful, enthusiastic, optimistic, meddlerTop most thing you would experience with Heartbeat is she is very cheerful. You would rarely see her sad or depressed as her optimism keeps her from being negative. Though sometimes she forces it to hide what she truly feels like her pain and fear.
enthusiastic~Heartbeat is very enthusiastic to her work, to life, to most things. She tries to help others to be enthusiastic as well.
meddler~She is what you call a meddler. Heartbeat always winds up in other dog's affairs even though it originally had nothing to do with her. Upon learning of healing through plants and wisdom given to her by her mentor she tries to help dogs in every way possible. She would set up a clinic to heal dogs in ways she can. This means if its dogs that she doesn't like or hate that needs attention she would help them. If its a serial killer dog that is terribly wounded she would try her best to help that dog, even against the other dogs wishes. Those who ask why she would save a murderer she would only say "there is thousands of reasons to murder someone, but there is no reason to help others."
optimistic~Heartbeat is also very optimistic and is rarely down or negative.Faithbelief in herself~
believing in herself, judgementHeart has a strong belief in herself. It's this that she believes in her judgement, her decisions, her heart regardless of having a terrible disorder. After all, it was her teacher who taught her to believe in herself and to listen to her heart and not her head.
judgement~Her judgement isn't that bad considering her disorder. If her mentor hasn't have been there for her she may not have had good judgement and wisdom.Healerknowledge~
knowledge of healing and herbs, organizedAll the knowledge of herbs and how to use them to treat dogs - to cure and heal them - came from learning from her mentor. Normally, the training took two years of a dogs life to master but Heartbeat seemed to be born to heal. After all, her mother was a healer who taught her some of the herbs and usage of them before Heart and her sister were taken. So you can say that Heart is almost like a prodigy of a healer. Regardless, she uses this knowledge to help and save dogs and never asking for anything in return.
organized~Heartbeat is very organized even when little. It was one of the traits that never left her. Well you can't be a good healer if you aren't organized and all your herbs are everywhere now can you?Gracebitch~
selfish, bad temper, sarcastic, bitch, enjoys fightingHeartbeat's other personality, Grace is absolute bitch. She cares about no one and is the opposite of Heart. She would be mean to pups, attack humans, and hurt others.
fighter~In her past she was forced in death matches and we all know Heart is no fighter. Grace however is, and a darn good one. It was actually because of Grace that Heart has survived in that place. Grace also enjoys fighting, she would ruse other dogs to fight her, bully other dogs and attack humans.
rage~Grace has a terrible temper that can easily lead into fights with other dogs if they ruffle her fur. Heartbeat constantly fears that Grace would come out and take over. Heartbeat can easily manage the temper and its difficult to get her off. However, if she sees humans abusing dogs or other animals like kicking them, throwing stones, etc, that is when Grace comes out. When Grace gets into a rage there is no stopping her from attacking. If it wasn't for Heartbeat Grace would have killed many people, but because of Heart's compassion for life and for others she manages to hold Grace back just enough to preventing her from killing anyone.
sarcastic~Other the rage and her bitchiness Grace is very sarcastic. After Grace takes over, it takes awhile before Heart gets back into control so when Grace is out and she isn't on the prowl for fights you would see her lazing around bored. She likes getting under dogs skin so she would be sarcastic with them usually all the time and downright mean.
selfish~Unlike Heartbeat, Grace is very selfish. She won't lift a paw to help others even if they are in dire need. When she does help others she would always demand something in return. Sometimes that something she makes it impossible for dogs just because she likes to make them suffer. However, that is usually not the case because Heartbeat would usually come out when dogs are in deep trouble. Grace usually stays out of other dogs affairs so she could stay in control. This is another thing on why she doesn't kill others because if she hurts them bad enough Heart would try and get control.

Bodybuild~
strong build, 20 in heightBecause of Heart's history and her lifestyle she is strongly built. She has a few scars here and there but most of them have healed or is hidden beneath the thick fur. If it wasn't for Grace taking over time to time and getting into fights Heart would have lost this strong build and only become strong enough for running and hunting.
size~Heartbeat is about twenty inches in height and like her Aussie breed she has a bobbed tail instead of a normal one or like her other breed the border collie.FurThickness~
tricolored, thick collie furThe thickness of her coat is the nearly the same thickness of an Aussie or border collie. So no one knows which breed the thickness of the coat takes after. The softness of the coat could take over a Aussie.
Color~Heartbeat is a tri-colored, meaning she is a mixture of golden brown, grey, black and white. She has lots of black flecks on her body, half of her face is covered in golden brown and white, a touch of grey and black flecks. Her bluish bright grey fur covers her ears along with black tips and flecks. She has a white chest, belly, and paws but has grey, golden brown and black flecks down her legs. Her sides and back is covered in grey and black as long with her tail with white.Eyescolor~
two different colored eyes of blue and brownHer eyes could take after from either breed since both breeds could have multiple eye color. Her right eye is brown and her left is the bright ice blue.

First Yearbirth~
taken from family from humans and into hellHeartbeat was in the outskirts of the city. Her father, Shane who was a Australian Shepherd purebred was a stray who met Artemis a few days after he lost his owners. Shane was about two years old when he lost his owners. He lived in a sheep farm and worked as a herder. Shane herded the sheep and protected them from predators or humans who would try to steal them. Shane was a great herder, he won tournaments and awards for his work. However, when his owner grew ill and died, his children who inherited Shane came to the farm to get Shane. Shane went with them into the city but hated it there. He ran away, out of the city and into the Country Side when he met Artemis who helped him survive the street life. Artemis was born in wild life just as her parents and their parents had. When she met Shane she thought that he wouldn't last long but helped him out to survive. Like Heart, Artemis is a meddler and loves helping other dogs get around as she could.
Shane and Artemis became good friends and partners of survival. Shane cared and loved Artemis who helped others without asking anything in return. Artemis who began to love Shane a bit after loved him for his tactics and knowledge of the wild side even though he had been born domestic. They had a litter of three pups, Grace, Amie, and Zeus. The hard life of predators, illness and natural disasters killed two of their pups and only Grace was left. A year after they had another litter of two pups this time but one who was born too weak died a few days after. The second one survived and named the pup Heartbeat. Why they decided this name was because Heartbeat had a strong heart and as Heart grew they realized the name suited her perfectly.
fourth month~Heartbeat was raised in the Country Side, taught to hunt a tiny bit by her father Shane. She learned few things about herbs and healing from her mother Artemis. When both her parents went out to go hunting her older sister Grace would look after her. Grace was always there for her little sister and played with her and talked to her just about everything. Heartbeat looked up to Grace and loved her sister so much.
One day, their parents went out hunting again. When Heart ran off and her sister followed they came close to a road. A rabbit was there on the dirty road and Heart tried to catch it. A vehicle came and Grace managed to push her sister off the road by slamming into her and both managed to get away unscathed. The vehicle stopped and they looked at the two dogs. Grace stood over her sister and snarled at the humans. They loved the spunk and took Grace and Heartbeat. They put them in a human building, the basement and had constantly beat them to get them angry. Heart who only shrunk away after being kicked was being treated worse because they were trying to get her to fight back. They kicked her harder and harder. Grace managed to break free and defended her sister, taking the worst of the beating and never letting the humans harm her sister. Grace gave the humans wounds every time they attacked and looked like a demon. Heart stared at her sister who was half dead but still standing over her sister, protecting her from the humans. She stared in horror and begged her sister to stop, that she would fight back to please them. Grace didn't and died.
seventh month~Three months after her sister's death Heart was beaten and put into a small cage with wires that tangled her coat. They rarely fed her and gave her little water. However, Heart fought to survive, reminding herself about Grace and what her sister sacrificed for. With that resolve she took the abuse. There were other dogs in that basement, young dogs like herself who were constantly beaten. The humans riled all the dogs to get them savage and mean, poking sticks at them till the dogs would shred them.
On the seventh month the humans brought a young pup, younger than she was when she was first brought here. They beat the pup until it was nearly dead. Heart couldn't forgive them, those smirks on their faces when the pup yelped, laughed when it shrunk away. They enjoyed hurting them and she hated them. Unable to hold back she got crazy and trying to break free of the cage. The humans took notice and this and took her out to beat the life out of her again. The wire loops they used to control dogs who are riled or crazy to protect themselves tried to use on Heart. They were too slow and she broke free. One human opened the door to bring in some lunch for everyone had the door wide open. Instead of trying to escape she went to the pup to protect it just as her sister had. She gave the humans several wounds but in the end they managed to get Heart back in the cage.
Heart who was still awake and alive after the beating she got stared numbly as the humans continued to beat the pup. Every cry the pup gave became weaker, with every kick and whip that was struck made Heart wine and bare her teeth with anger and despair. Finally the pup died and Heart forever felt like a failure to her sister and her parents and herself for being unable to save the pup like Grace protected her.
eighth month~After the months of abuse the humans took Heart and put her in the Arena for the first time. She became scared because this was so different from what she originally took. One of the dogs explained to her after she asked why the humans were doing this. They told her that the humans beat the dogs to make them angry and to make them fighters. When they think the dogs are ready they put the dogs in a large pit called the Arena to make the dogs fight each other to the death. Heart who was against Shot, the dog who she was beside and had explained to her about the fights and everything, taught her to survive here. He told her how he got here after she told him her story. Shot and her became good friends through all this. However, when in that Arena, Shot was no longer her friend but a dog trying to survive in this hell. Heart who did not want to fight Shot, snarled at her that if she wants to survive she has to fight him. She still hesitated and refused to fight, the humans booed and threw glass bottles in the arena to make the dogs fight. One bottle hit Shot, the glass embedded in his shoulders and bleeding. He ignored it completely and attacked Heart. She didn't dodge, too shocked at the display. She tried to tell Shot to stop because he was hurt. As he pinned her down he reminded her about Grace and whispered to her. He told her that she must fight, become strong, and wait for that one moment and escape. Heart wanted Shot to come with her but told her he is too old now. Even if he does continue to survive the humans will just kill him in the end and give him to other dogs to be eaten. That was how it was, for dogs who lost fights, didn't survive the beatings, ill, or became too old would be fed to the dogs. Normal dogs wouldn't resort to cannibalism but dogs on the brink of starvation would. The only dog who didn't resort to eating other dogs was Heart who would use her imagination to help fill her hunger and eat what she can slowly to savor the taste and fill her stomach more. After, Shot told her this Heart regrettably attacked and started fighting and Heart won the fight.
eleventh~Heart fought and won in every match, learned to fight well and listen to the voice in her head that told her what to do in these fights. She developed this voice after defeating Shot and with no dog to talked to this voice began talking to her. It helped her survive, to keep fighting. However, after the eleventh month it got worse and worse to the point she has blackouts. Dogs tell her she went in fights she doesn't remember being in. They told her how cruel she was, how she killed the dogs slowly, making them scream in ways no dogs would make. Heart never remembered any of it. That was when Grace told her it was her who fought in those fights and that she should be grateful.Second Yearthird month~
training under Cotex to become a healerHeart went through four months of this torture and cruel life. She manage to break free after a beating session and escape through a gap in the way that she noticed earlier. Even after the humans had stopped chasing her she ran and ran till she couldn't run anymore. Finally she found her family home but found it had been abandoned months ago. She guessed her parents were distraught after realizing both of their pups are gone and couldn't stand to be here any longer. Part of her was happy she hadn't found them, after all, how could she explain what happened to Grace and her.
sixth month~After three months of freedom and on her own she roamed the Country Side and the City. In her sixth month of her second year she met a Great Dane feral named Cotex. He was an old dog who taught many dogs of healing through herbs. Heartbeat remembered her mother telling her about a dog named Cotex who taught her about herbs and healing. Cotex realized who she was and took her in. He taught her the art of healing and wisdom just as he did to many dogs. When Heart asked about her mother he told her that he had two students at that time, one of Artemis and the other was Neu, a beautiful sighthound who was very skilled in healing and knowledge of herbs regardless of her poor memory.
tenth month~Only a few months of training Heart became good at helping others. Cotex even told her that only a few students he taught learned this quickly, one was his first apprentice while the second one was Heart's mother Artemis. Neu returned from her travels and stayed with them a few days before leaving. Heart met Neu for the first time and thought how amazing the female was. How cheerful and content she was regardless of her poor memory. The saluki sighthound explained to her that she was born with poor memory, that something went wrong through her birth but doesn't know what. It was then that she explained that she doesn't remember half of her life. Heart confessed that she wished she could forget about her puphood. Neu told her she shouldn't think that even though Heart told her why. The other female explained that its best to remember things like that because those difficult times make dogs stronger.Third Yearfourth month~
left the nest to make a futureHeart finished her training and left Cotex to find her the home she was born in and help dogs there. She hoped that if she stayed there she might find her parents. No longer will she live in regret and fear.
