[cs=2][classy=title]appearance[/classy] Easton has a build sort of like a Labrador, except for his ears. He's large and well-muscled (though not as much as, say, a German Shepherd, but he still makes a pretty threatening image). His ears are strange, as they're floppy, but he can straighten them, turn them, twist them, etc, whenever he wants. His fur is all black, but he has a speckling of gray under his chin. Some mistake this for a sign of age, but it's just a marking he has - the only marking he has, in fact. [classy=title]personality[/classy]Easton is a difficult dog to figure out. If you talk to most people he's met, they'll say they know everything about him. To dogs that he doesn't know, he has a standoffish attitude, as if he's better than you, and he shouldn't waste any time talking to you. In fact, this strategy works; this attitude combined with his size and obvious physical strength are a terrifying match and manage to keep away most threats. However, to some it only annoys them. Even if one tries to start a conversation, he will say a few words and then...leave. Easton doesn't consciously realize that he is being an arrogant brat. The real reason is, he actually doesn't think that any other dog is worth his time. [classy=title]biography[/classy]See, Easton functions like a machine; he has one purpose, and everything he does is to get towards that one purpose, and anything else is a distraction. Because of this, any interaction he has is either using someone to get something he wants, or nodding as someone tries to start a conversation and then walking away. One may ask what great things he's after; he is a domestic dog, after all. But Easton, according to himself, is much more than that. More than anything, he wants a following; something to be remembered by. He'll do almost anything to get remembered - almost. There are some instances where he draws the line. The only reason that Easton hasn't given up yet is because he has this super-inflated ego. To put it simply, he thinks he's the shit. The greatest thing's that ever hit this town. He believes that somewhere in himself, is something great. However, this over-confidence may be a good thing - after all he's been through, many things any other dog may have lost hope in themself. Because of this, he will never give up on his goal. When he draws the line? Well, this is a sort of gray area. Easton has a fear of becoming evil, so if he ever stood once in a while and looked at his actions and what he's been doing his whole life, he'd probably be mortified. Good thing he's never. See, if he had a way to get remembered, and someone got in the way, if they really infuriated him, he might 'take care of them' somehow - blackmail them, ship 'em off somehow, kill them if they really threatened his plan. However, once in a while, his mind drifts to doing one of those things to get famous, and immediately he stops, because then he'd be evil. He isn't very aware of his actions. Thalia and Benjamin were a normal feral couple who fell in love, and the arrival of puppies was an event they both greatly looked forward to. It was Thalia's first litter, and she was extremely nervous, and as her belly swelled and swelled, Benjamin had to go hunting for her and bring her back food. As it was becoming winter soon, there wasn't even that much. Benjamin gave most of his food to Thalia, and they managed to survive. Both were extremely underfed by the time the puppies came. However, Thalia was extremely fragile from lack of food. She couldn't take the strain of giving birth. Right after having all the puppies, she died. Only one out of eight of the puppies lived. Benjamin, sick with grief, left the puppies there, in the alley on a crude nest of wet, disintegrating paper. The puppy lay there, among its dead brothers and sisters, for two hours before a civilian walking by called animal control. A shelter took him in and he grew until the age of eight months. He was given plenty of care and love and grew to trust humans. Finally, he was adopted. It started off great; his new home was perfect for him. The first six months were perfect. Then, things started breaking apart. The two parents in the family were getting a divorce. They moved apart and the father took him to another part of town. That's when it started. The father would kick Easton, leave him outside for days on end, and not feed him. That's where he got his survival skills Whenever the father kicked him out, he'd leave the backyard. He'd hunt on his own, and live on his own. However, one night, as Easton crossed the street, a car zoomed around the corner. They ran straight over him, leaving him bleeding and unconscious in the middle of the road. Luckily, the next car that came by was a caring person. They saw that he was still alive, and called the police. Once again, Easton returned to the shelter where he spent his puphood. But now he was different. He didn't trust them in the same pure way that he did before. And now, he had a burning sense of revenge. That human thought he was good for nothing. Well, he'd show them that he was something. He'd be remembered. Then, he'd be sorry that he mistreated Easton. The staff of the shelter didn't know what was wrong; he didn't respond as well to affection or food and his mind always seemed to be somewhere else. Nevertheless, he wasn't aggressive and he was adopted by an old lady. Easton wasn't like a normal dog. The lady, Ms. Thomson, tried at first to keep him indoors, but he was incredibly unhappy. So, she opened the doors, and from then on, a pattern was made. Easton would come and go wherever he liked during the day, but at night, he'd always come back. And it felt okay, not like the father, because Ms. Thomson actually really loved him. Easton didn't think he loved or trusted Ms. Thomson either until one night. He came back, and he sensed that something was wrong. Ms. Thomson had had a stroke. Thanks to Easton's constant barking for ten minutes, the neighbor came to see what was wrong, and Ms. Thomson was saved. Now, Easton returns home extremely frequently, and stays close to home. He realized that he trusted Ms. Thomson, and would give his life for her, just like any dog would. He's afraid of something like that happening again. However, loving Ms. Thomson does not get in thee way of him trying to be remembered, and he still pursues that goal. |
